May 31, 2016, on the eve of children's Day at the cultural Center of Tomsk state University opened an exhibition of the International competition of art creativity "Symbol (image) of peace in the XXI century".

At the opening of the exhibition and awarding of winners was attended by the Deputy of the Seversk Duma N. M. Zubkova, Director of the Institute of arts and culture TSU E. I. Chernyak, the Chairman of the jury – honored artist of the Russian Federation N. N. Korobeinikov, head of Department of fine arts IIK TSU T. S. Korobeinikova, head of the organising Committee, Director of the "Art school" of the city of Seversk E. V. Sidorova.

Elena Valerievna Sidorova told the audience about the implementation of the project, which began on 12 June 2015, when the deputies of the Duma Seversk and Art school celebrated veterans of the great Patriotic war and homefront workers. Veterans have heard the story of the creation of the peace symbol of the XX century – "the dove" by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso created for the International peace Congress. Was also presented his painting "Guernica", showing the chaos and destruction that brings the world war. It was then that the veterans have proposed to Express the idea of peace in the twenty-first century by collecting signatures "for peace and good neighborly relations with countries and peoples", and Art school decided to hold a drawing competition. During the year there were a lot of "Lessons of peace", gathered more than 1,000 signatures "For peace", which the Art school was transferred to the Seversky city Council of veterans. The contest received more than 400 works from 16 cities not only of Russia but also Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

360 works participated in the competition. More than 200 works presented in the final exhibition in Tomsk.

Their opinion about the importance of the creative partnership of the organizers of the contest – Saint-Petersburg Institute named after I. E. Repin, IIK TSU and Art schools and the exhibition was made Director of the Institute of arts and culture Isaac E. Chernyak.

The importance of such events aimed at the preservation of peace, noted in his speech the Deputy of the Seversk Duma N. M. Zubkova. Nadezhda Mikhailovna noted the high level of competition and the importance of educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and historical memory of Russians.

A wonderful gift for the winners was the performance of Exemplary children's ensemble of folk song "Sadko" "Center "Poisk" the city of Seversk (Director of the ensemble S. V. Levchenko). The winners of the Tomsk and Seversk were awarded diplomas and prizes. In other cities diplomas, certificates of participants and catalogues will be sent to the beginning of the school year.
